Capoeira Camp 2005

Woohooo!

Kinu-san has booked us three bungalows at the Kawa i (River Well) Camp site,
Okutama for July 16 (check in) - 18 (check out). Here

I couldn’t read much on their website, but from the photos, I can tell they
have trees, lots of camp fire wood, those Rhinoceros Beetles Japanese “kids”
love, the Pied Kingfisher - symbol of freedom, justice and protector of
Kawai Camp site, and world famous Miso Soup!!

Nearby they have a beautiful onsen and delicious ramen shop. Note: Please
don’t eat your ramen in the onsen!

I noticed on their website something about “No Fireworks”, so I guess we’ll
have to light our fireworks in the onsen after we eat our ramen!!!

They also say no Pets, and please, leave your cigarettes at home, but I
guess we are all non-smokers anyway!! That’s great.

Making lots of noise, dancing, playing instruments, capoeira roda, and
playing with fireworks is definitely part of our camp plan. So can someone
please find out if we are allowed to have fun at this camp site?

There will be lots of fun and games in store, and of course an intensive
capoeira workshop.
The capoeira workshop includes:
Roasting Marhmellows on the camp fire.
Dancing forro (the sexy Brazilian partner dance).
Brazilian Samba vs Matsuken Samba.
Bikini Contest - Girls vs Boys.
Talent Show (bring your instruments, magic tricks, unicycles and hula hoops) and maybe some capoeira, music, singing, and acro to make up for the two
classes we miss.

Here’s who’s coming:
Marcello
Kinu
Sato
Kanako
Kotaro
Dai (birthday boy/man)
Jay
Naomi
Naomi’s friend (maybe)
Tomoko (maybe)
Kimi (probably only staying one day).

We have 2 four-man bungalows, and 1 three-man bungalow booked. My guess is
accomodation comes to 3000Yen per person, plus food, transport and various
other costs.

Don’t worry about showers (this is camping), and of course, NO extra charge
for our world-famous Capoeira Camp Workshop.

I hope that all makes sense to everyone.

I am really looking forward to this trip!!!

I’ll leave you with one more thing, translated from the website:

“Green it is clear town of flow, Okutama
The natural environment where this applying does not have obtaining In order to connect to future…”

One of the cool bangalows we might be staying in, in Okutama
