Things are heating up for the GBC Malaysia Batizado 2005!!

Instrutor Rafael of GBC Malaysia will be hosting many VIPs and guests from around the world. Of course Mestre Pintor will be conducting the batizado and workshops, along with Instrutor Rafael, Formado Gringo, Instrutor Canguru and guests from GBC Australia and Japan. We’re hoping to add to that, Instrutor Claudhino soon to be starting GBC in Singapore, and maybe Monkey from GBC China. Not forgetting guests from other groups within the S.E Asia region including our friends from Associaço Grupo Bahia de Capoeira (now in Brazil, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia).
The other day I got an exciting email from Sabão of GBC Australia. Sabão wrote:
yeah, 10 of us are going!! Here is a list of people:
Gringo, Shireen, Canguru, Sabao, Caveman, Chloe,
Sarah, Kiwi, Zangada, Toddinho
It should be awesome! We’re leaving on the 8th sept
and coming back on the 12th… tell kinu we’re only
going for 4 days so she should definitely go for 5
days
we were just talking about seeing you guys
again the other day and that just made us even more
excited!! Everyone here misses you man so you have to
come!! we’re actually flying into singapore cos it’s
cheaper and then making our way to KL by a bus…
So, let’s get a group of capoeiristas together from Japan to represent the Land of the Rising Sun!
Cafune had a look at this site last night, and she found some really cheaps tickets to Singapore to dpeart on September 8th and return September 11th or 12th. If you’d like to stay longer please let us know. The ticket is around 36,000 yen to fly from Tokyo to Singapore direct, and return. The bus ticket from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur is about 900yen - 1800yen and takes about 6 hours. To fly direct to Kuala Lumpur is about 10,000yen extra but would cut down on travel time. To get the discounted tickets we need to book as a group, pay for the tickets in July.
We’ll keep searching for the best value for money ticket, and keep everyone up-to-date.
The great news for GBC Japão is that our students will be able to take part in the batizado and receive their first cord as part of this joint Asia/Australasia GBC Batizado.
So it’s a great incentive to get some time off work, get out of Tokyo and make your way down to KL!
The trip will include the Batizado, Festa Noite Brasileira, and workshops with Mestre Pintor, Formado Gringo, and Instrutors Rafael and Canguru! There might even be a trip to the beach if we have the time. Not to mention sleeping in the new GBC MY academia with probably 20 other smelly capoeiristas.
BYO sleeping bag.

Some of our members will be leaving a little bit earlier or later. But we will be able to attend the workshops, Noite Brasileira, and of course the Batizado! Cafune and Satoru will be taking the 11am flight back home on the 12th, while I will be taking the 23.00 flight back to Narita. We’re expecting up to 7 people to be flying into KL for the GBC Malaysia Batizado 2005! In the meantime, we are waiting for GBC MY to update us with accomodation details.

my name is coelho, and i will be your trusty tour guide for your trip to Malaysia.
Anyway, here are some details for everyone to note down.
1.Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur, please give me a call @ 0192319528.
(or in case u need me beforehand, or get a bit lonely give me a call from japan- +60192319528)
2. Look for the KLIA Express sign at the airport. Head there, and buy a return ticket. The train will take you guys to KL Sentral, where Grupo Bantus Kuala Lumpur will await you.
Note: The return ticket will cost RM70. Since you guys are really good at maths, i’ll leave it to you to convert the currency. Oh alright, i’ll give you a hint, RM3.80 = USD1.
3. Upon arrival, we shall head straight to our academy for the workshops with mestre pintor and formado gringo. Workshop fees are RM150, which is inclusive of 2 days of workshops and a T-shirt.
4. After the workshop, and a taste of Malaysian gourmet and hospitality, we’ll be heading to YMCA for some shut eye. Accomodations are RM90 per night for a three-person room. Transport will be provided of course! And there’s free breakfast too!
5. FRIDAY - all the guests will be staying at the YMCA. So we’ll meet up some time late morning to meet up, catch up and the rest of the day is pretty much free and easy. The evening we will have another night of workshop.
6. SATURDAY - PARTY TIME! Noite brasilerra is happening in the heart of KL City! Time to show Japao how Malaysians partay!!! We’ll be setting up the place from the afternoon, so everyone’s more than welcome to help out. Or. Just head to town and have a little shopping tour of the city.
7. Batizado! We’ll have to be a little early today, because the batizado’s happening in the afternoon. It’s going to be fun. Nuff said!
8. Domingo- Time to say goodbye
But a lot of us will be heading down to singapore with you. Where we will be celebrating the opening of Grupo Bantus Capoeira Singapore led by Instrutor Claudinho!
