On Sunday, July 31st 24th there will be training and a farewell roda in Yoyogi Park for our friend Indio of Grupo Topazio Capoeira. Indio is from the heart of capoeira, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He has been living in Tokyo, teaching capoeira, and working at a Brazilian show restaurant. He is well-known in Tokyo for his flashy acrobatics and showmanship.
Let’s meet at 1pm by the large fountain/wood deck in Yoyogi Park.
Closest station is Harajuku, or a short walk from Shibuya Station.
Stay tuned to this post, as the plans may change in regards to the farewell roda for Indio.
It might be brought forward to Saturday 23rd/30th July if his travel plans have to be changed.
OK OK! The roda has been brought forward to Sunday 24th of July, at 1pm.
The weather managed to stay nice for most of the day and we had a fun training session followed by an enjoyable, if pretty small roda with Indio and others.
The park was pretty quiet today, due to the inclement weather (and possible threat of EARTHQUAKES!!!). Keep an eye open for more open rodas in the near future.
