Sunday 5th March 2006
Scenes from the March in March, 2005.
We were invited to perform at the Annual Foreign Workers March next Sunday, March 5th. It will be a good chance to show our support for all the Foreign Workers in Japan. It is especially important considering a lot of Bantus Capoeira Japão members are foreign workers themselves.
It will also be the biggest show for us so far this year as more than 300 people are expected to take part!
We’ve launched a new [Bantus Capoeira Forum](http://forum.bantus.org)! This forum hopes to foster international communication between the different Bantus groups around the world and promote an active online Bantus community. It’s free to sign up and will only take you a few minutes!

Saturday 1st April 2006
Bantus Capoeira Japan is very proud to announce, starting on the 1st of April 2006 we will have a new class in a new venue!!!
Yes, that’s right. Saturday night classes are back.
Starting at 7pm sharp and ending at 9pm, we will have a Capoeira Basics class.
What does that mean?
Well, this class will focus on the basics of capoeira. It’s the perfect place to start if you’re looking for a good introduction to capoeira, but were to afraid to join a regular class.
But it is not just for beginners. Regular students are welcome to come along too. You always need to work on the fundamentals, and you’ll also be able to help out the new guys, and share the world famous Bantus energy.

We’ve been looking around Kichijoji, Mitaka, Ogikubo, and Nishi-Ogikubo for a new training venue for a regular, new class. More on that in the upcoming days.
However, on Sunday 19th March, we’ll all get a special sneak preview of one of the possible locations. It’s a really nice studio, less than 4 minutes walk from Kichijoji Station!!!

On Sunday 5th March from 3pm - 6pm we will have our “Annual General Meeting” to discuss all matters important to Grupo Bantus Capoeira Japão.
This is your chance to have your say, make your suggestions, and get involved. So please bring your ideas, ready to present to everyone. We’ll also be looking back at 2005, announcing some important news, and getting everyone ready for the upcoming year.
After the meeting we can all go out for dinner in Kichijoji.
Time: 3pm - 6pm.
Date: Sunday, March 5th, 2006.
Location: Mitaka Dai San Chu Gakkou, Tamokutekishitsu, 2F.
Bring your ideas, suggestions, and wish list for GBC Japão.
This meeting is compulsory for all members of Grupo Bantus Capoeira Japão. Non-members are welcome, regular students are encouraged to attend.
There will be no capoeira class Sunday, 5th March, 2006.

Mestre Pintor has announced the “15th Anniversary of Bantus Capoeira - Logo Competition“.
The rules are simple:
Create a new logo to be used in promoting the 15th Anniversary of Grupo Bantus Capoeira. It will appear on the event t-shirts, and other related materials.
It must use the current “Bantus Berimbau” logo and the World Globe.
It could contain the words “15anos”, “1991 - 2006″, “Brasil, Australia, Hollanda, Alemanha, Israel, Cingapura, Malaysia, China,
Japão”, or the flags of the official Bantus groups.
You might want to include our mascot Gorilla Bantus.
It’s up to you, use your imagination, go wild, get creative!!!
Send an email here to get the official Bantus Berimbau logo in Adobe Illustrator or EPS format, and for further instructions on sending your work to us.
The winner will receive a hand-made Berimbau and Pandeiro, straight from the workshops of Grupo Bantus Capoeira Brazil!

Thanks to Cafune, Mico, Espaguete, Noriko, Uriah and Greg for making it to the roda.
We also met up with a lot of old friends for the first time in 2006. Muito obrigado Toshio and China from FDT for hosting the event.
After the roda, we continued the Brazilian theme at the BRASA!! Brazilian Party.
