AGM 2006
Originally uploaded by Bantus Capoeira Japan.
On Sunday March 5th, 2006 we had our very first Annual General Meeting.
Those present at the meeting were:
Cafune (Kinuko Kaneda)
Caçapa (Marcello Pietrantonio)
Quati (Satoru Nakano)
Mico Estrela (Jay Arteficio)
Noriko Tsukada
Maki chan (Yoshiko Makita)
Espaguete (Mat Brigham)
Greg Furr
The meeting started just after 3.30pm as we were running late after performing at the “March in March” in Shinjuku.
We started the meeting by handing out a survey for everyone to answer. The survey listed 30 things that each person was required to rank from 1-5 considering what was important to them.
Then we looked at the official Rules and Regulations for GBC Japan. This promoted some good discussion, and addressed some issues people were concerned with.
Then we looked at forming the GBC Japan 2006 committee.
Finally we took a look at the 2006 membership sign-up form, took a couple of photos to mark the day, and made our way to Kichijoji for a lovely dinner of Organic Italian food, and all-you-can-drink cocktails and beer.
The committee for 2006 was elected as follows:
GBC Japão Committee 2006
Chairperson: Caçapa (Marcello Pietrantonio)
Vice Chairperson: Cafune (Kinuko Kaneda)
Secretary: Maki chan (Yoshiko Makita) and Cafune
Treasurer: Cafune, Caçapa and others
Events Coordinator: Cafune, Mico Estrella (Jay Arteficio), and Quati (Satoru Nakano)
Promotions Officer: Cafune and Noriko Tsukada
GBC Japão Actions Teams
Translation Team: Cafune and Maki chan
Promotions Team: Noriko and Greg Furr
Blog Contribution Team: Cafune, Espaguete, Mico, Greg
Art and Design Team: Noriko and Caçapa

If you weren’t at the AGM but want to help us out, you can join one of the Action Teams at anytime!!!
The Rules and Regulations were drawn up, and will be the guiding force when it comes to running this capoeira group. During good times and bad times, our Mission Statement and Vision Statement will help us to keep on track.
Download the PDF of the Rules and Regulations.
So, starting April 1st 2006, the all new Grupo Bantus Capoeira Japão will be taking Tokyo by storm. Working together as a team to promote the positive side of capoeira, and sharing the famous Bantus axé with all that enter the roda of Bantus.
Watch out!

Wow… That is a sexy bunch in that picture if I do say so myself.
