WOW! What an awesome day.

It started at 6am when we (Cafune and I) woke up to go down to Inokashira Park to secure our place under the Cherry Blossoms at what will probably be the last day for Hanami Parties in this part of Japan for 2006.

Check out the Hanami mat we prepared on Friday night.

Satisfied with our perfect spot right next to Inokashira Pond, we returned to our futon for some much earned sleep.

When we woke up it was time for more preparations, last minute shopping, and time for Cafune to hit the kitchen to finish making the coxinhas, and maccha cake she started preparing on Wednesday night.

I headed off to San Chu for our regular Sunday class. At the new & permanent time of 3pm-6pm. Location will change between San Chu and Go Sho, Go Sho if possible. Check the schedule, please.

After class we went to our usual spot in Inokashira Park to do a roda. A huge crowd gathered to check it out. The highlight of the roda being a tiny little kid (perhaps baby would be a better word) giving capoeira his best shot. Probably the fastest learner I’ve ever taught!!!

Then it was time to “hanami”.

Thanks to everyone who came, brought food and drinks, and friends, and good vibes.

YOU GUYS ROCK!

Then it was back to Kichijoji for the very first Bantus Capoeira Japan Karaoke extravaganza!!!

My first time to properly experience real Japanese karaoke in its place of origin.

I’ll let the photos do the talking.

    Hey guys,
I just wanna say that I has such a wonderful time last night. That was my first hanami party and I couldnt have asked to have one with a nicer bunch of people! In fact, it was one of the most special things I have experienced in Japan so far! A big thank you to Cacapa and Kafune for all the hard work put into it. Axe and a big hug, Espaguete

(P.S - Wow, what a hangover today, though! Next time I will remember to drink water while Im drinking!!)

    Hey Cacapa(Cafune too!),

Just wanted to say great job arranging the festivities this weekend and I’m really impressed with what an awesome job you did performing for the park goers that day.GAMBATTE!

Oh, and sorry I ate all the coxinhas

Thanks for the great comments guys. Nice to know you had as much fun as we did. Espaguete’s comment was really touching. Ganbatte Uriah! Thanks for being so dedicated with the classes lately. Keep up the good work. We had such a lucky Hanami. Sunday was sandwiched between two crappy days for weather, and the Sakura managed to cling onto the trees for their dear life. So, who’s coming to the roda on Sunday 16th? And who’s up for the next roda in Inokashira Park? Starting May, every Sunday, weather permitting, and with a minimum of 5 people for the roda. Don’t let your friends down, give us some axé!!! Stay tuned for more info.
