The weather is heating up!
You can feel the humidity seeping back into our daily lives. Soon you’re going to have to bring a sweat towel to every capoeira class.
But most importantly, that means the open rodas in Inokashira Park are back! Weather permitting, we’ll head down to the park and finish our Sunday class with an open roda.
Please bring suitable light weight outdoor sandshoes. Something with a good grip is best.

The weather wasn’t sunny at all today, it even rained. But that didn’t stop us from having a really great roda at the end of class!!! With two brand new students there to get their first taste of capoeira, and some of the regulars to cook it up. Even the singing practice at the start of class gave me goose bumps! Those classroom blackboards really come in handy. THANK YOU bantulinos, and thanks to Maki-chan for getting to class early and putting away the table and chairs. Days like today make it feel like all the work behind-the-scenes is worthwhile. Right now I’m working on the next post: our big trip to Brazil in August, and the Festival Mundial Bantus Capoeira. I hope you’ve started saving your yen already, studying portuguese, got days off from work, and have a up-to-date passport and visas etc.
