In this post we’ll cover the Festival Mundial Bantus Capoeira - 15 anos do Grupo Bantus or Bantus Capoeira World Festival – 15 years of Grupo Bantus.

Grupo Bantus have been putting on world class capoeira events in Belo Horizonte, Brazil for the last 10 years. The year 2006 marks the 15th anniversary of Grupo Bantus Capoeira, founded by Mestre Pintor in 1991.

Presentation of Capoeira and Maculelê in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Besides the wealth of the cultural activities on offer, the Festival Mundial Bantus Capoeira will act as a melting-pot of cultures, classes, backgrounds, talents and abilities.
With this event, Mestre Pintor wants to promote a world event to celebrate the birthday of our group and to celebrate capoeira. Today, Bantus Capoeira exists in Brazil, Holland, Germany, Japan, China, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Israel.
During the festival, it is predicted that 500 students from all over the world will participate. The event will be presented to a public of approximately five thousand people that will participate in workshops, attend concerts and presentations of music and dance, or take part in lectures about capoeira and themes related to the Afro-Brazilian culture.
Of course, there will be a Batizado and Troca de Cordas, so make sure you’re training hard!
