Summer Holiday Break

It’s Summer Holiday time, in Japan they say “O-Bon” but at Bantus Capoeira Japan we say “Brazil here we come!”.

That means our last class will be on Tuesday 15th August 2006 at San Chu and first class back will be Saturday 9th September 2006 at Event Hall Musashino. Check the schedule here.

While the 7 Samurai are sweating it out in the rodas of samba in Brazil, you guys will be sipping Chu Hai on the beach in Okinawa, cleaning your ancestors graves, or stuck in your tiny cubicles working hard as usual.

But does that mean you guys can slack off and get fat? NO!!! Of course not. Please don’t forget to keep stretching every day. Do a few push-ups and sit-ups at home. Get the blood flowing to your head with some handstands up against the front door in your genkan.

Top 5 Summer Holiday Tips

    1. 20 push-ups and 50 sit-ups in the morning before work, x4 if you’re keen.
    2. 20 minutes stretching after a hot bath before you hit the futon.
    3. Instead of walking to work, try “au”-ing.
    4. Ginga while waiting in line for anything.
    5. If someone pushes in front of you while rushing to catch their train, RASTEIRA!!!

Other things you can do during the break.

    1. Check out these crazy capoeira videos.
    2. Learn some capoeira songs!
    3. Visit your Bantus Capoeira family in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Germany, Holland, Israel or Brazil.
    4. Join the BANTUS INTERNET FORUM and interact with Bantus capoeiristas from all over the world. Organize a meeting with the other GBC Japan members in Tokyo, or meet your fellow bantulinos around the world, and if you’re ever in the neighbourhood you’re guaranteed a place to stay.
    5. Or join MIXI and hang out online in Japanese and join our online community.
    6. Join the ORKUT Bantus Community and meet a million Brazilians and other bantulinos from across the globe!
    6. Follow Quek and Rafa from GBC Malaysia as they get up to all kinds of shenanigans in Brazil. Check their blog.
    7. Spend a few days reading the archives of this blog, and LEAVE SOME COMMENTS PLEASE!!!
