MISHOP WORLD 2006

This is the 2nd consecutive year GBC Japan has been invited to perform at the Mishop World Festival held in Inokashira West Park, Mitakashi. Last year’s event was cancelled due to a Typhoon warning, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for a beautiful sunny day.
MISHOP (Mitaka International Society for HOsPitality) is a volunteer based organization that promotes the understanding of international culture here in Mitakashi. The Mishop World Festival is an annual free outdoor event filled with international acts, activities, craft and food stalls and many other opportunities to interact with the international community here in Tokyo.
Bantus Capoeira Japan will be on the main stage at 11:15am, so get there early to make sure you don’t miss out on the fun.
Time: 10am - 4pm.
Grupo Bantus Japan will meet at 10:30am to stretch and warm-up before our performance at 11:15-11:30am.
Date: Sunday 24th September, 2006.
Location: Inokashira West Park. Near The Ghibli Museum.
Dress: White Bantus Capoeira uniform (talk to Caçapa or Cafune if you don’t own the white uniform but want to take part in the performance).
Links: MISHOP, Mishop World 2006.
Note: There will be no Sunday Capoeira class.
After our performance we will have lots of time to enjoy the other acts and fit in an open roda in Inokashira Park. After that we may continue partying over in Nishi Azabu at bem brasil’s 1st Anniversary Party.
Leave a comment here to let us know you’ll be coming.

ChurrascoはBantusじゃなくて、ブラジル人の留学生達の企画です。
でも単に大人数でのバーベキューなんで、気楽に来て下さい!

Speaking of upcoming events, here’s a sneak preview. Full details on the way… October 9th (Mitaka Sports Festa), October 21st (Nudist Beach w/Bantus Capoeira Japan), Date TBC (Some Charity Shows), November 12th (Bem Brasil w/Bantus Capoeira Japan), November 18th/19th (Festa Alegria Brazil - TBC), November 26th (Bantus Capoeira Japan 2nd Year Anniversary Party), Sometime in December/January (Winter Capoeira Camp). WOW!!!!! If that’s not enough inspiration to pay your membership, come to class four times a week, wear your bantus capoeira pants & t-shirt, and train at home too, then I don’t know what is!!! C’mon people, you are GBC Japan. Eu sou Bantus Capoeira, Bantus Capoeira, Bantus Capoeira!

What’s going on you guys? Last night we only had 1 student at class (a new guy, just his 3rd lesson)! We have a big show coming up this Sunday and you all dissapeared! I know you have to go to work, but I know most of you finish between 5-6pm. Tell your boss you’re not a slave, you’re not a robot! Finish work on time and get out of there! Even if you don’t make it to class until 8pm your energy is still needed. Bring your berimbaus, practice singing, hang out with your capoeira friends. Where’s the axé? Where’s the love? If you think the class is too far from the station, then tell Cafune. Do you want to train somewhere closer to the station? We can find a place closer to the staiton, but you have to promise to come to class. How about Event Hall Musashino? Classes from 7.30pm-9pm? Does that suit everyone better? Leave your comments here, or email Cafune now! http://jp.bantus.org/about-bantus-j/contact-us-j/ Coming to class only for 2-3 hours a week is not good enough!!! Ask yourself if you really want to do capoeira, or you want to spend more time at work? The choice is yours.
