Design Festa 2007 Update!
We have some super great news for everyone!
The organizers at Design Festa were so impressed with our proposal they have invited us to do two more shows at Design Festa volume 25! They have also featured our images heavily on their posters and in their advertising.

Date: Saturday May 26th and Sunday May 27th 2007.
Time: 11am - 7pm.
Show Times:
Saturday May 26th Indoor Stage 2pm-2.45pm (45 minutes)
Sunday May 27th Indoor Stage 1.30pm-2pm (30 minutes),
Projection Space 3.30pm-4pm (30 minutes).
Location: Tokyo International Exhibition Center “TOKYO BIG SIGHT”
West Hall 1, 2, 3, 4, Atrium & Outdoor.
Price: 1 Day: 800yen (pre-sale) 1000yen (At the door). Both Days: 1500yen (pre-sale) 1800yen (At the door).

This is going to be one of our biggest and most important events leading up to our batizado, so everyone’s participation is vitally important. Get the day off work, invite your friends and family, and make a day of it.
Those GBCJ members who can participate 100% and let me know in time will receive free entry to the event! Remember, we will be rehearsing for the shows every Sunday, so please arrive to class on time.

DFは、フリースタイルの国際的アートイベントで、プロ、アマを問わず世界中から集ったアーティスト達がクリエイティブな才能を披露するイベントです。DFは約６万人の訪問者と６千人の参加者が集うアジア最大級のアートイベントです。

We will practice the choreography and timing and select the performance team for maculele.
All GBCJ students invited.

Those times are approximate and the speaking time could be less or more. Less I hope.
We’ll need volunteers to take on the atabaque, 2 capoeira posters, and people to play berimbaus, atabaque, pandeiro, agogo, reco-reco.
We also need someone to operate my video camera, and someone to take photos (a friend or family member).
So, the dress code is as follows.
Indoor Stage:
White BANTUS CAPOEIRA JAPAO uniform.
(white GBC pants with cord, and white GBCJ t-shirt. Colour sleeves/ribbing is OK. ie. Raglan look).
No Shoes/Socks.
No Boxer Shorts or Grandma undies.
Projection Space:
Colour capoeira pants and colour capoeira t-shirt.
If you don’t have colour capoeira t-shirt but have white BANTUS capoeira t-shirt please wear that.
Shoes OK (but no long white socks).
Booth helpers:
Please wear GBCJ t-shirt with jeans, or skirt, or shorts etc.
If you don’t have white GBC pants, you must ask someone to borrow their extra pair. You will need to borrow a white cord, please ask Cacapa.
If you don’t have colour capoeira pants, please buy some from Cacapa or ask someone to borrow their extra pair.
If you don’t have white GBCJ t-shirt, you can buy one from Cacapa before Design Festa.
If you don’t have colour capoeira t-shirt, you can buy one from Cacapa before Design Festa.
