Roda do Parque
It’s been on the schedule for a while, but I didn’t want mother nature to know we were planning to head out for the day. This Sunday is Park Roda day!
Bring your berimbaus and pandeiros, bring your capoeira pants and t-shirts, and bring your axé! We’ll be spending the day in Tokyo’s best kept secret and most beautiful park for playing capoeira. Tachikawa Showa Kinen Koen. There’ll be capoeira acro training, rodas, samba, and lots of fun! Bring your guitars, frisbees, soccer balls and whatever else you want. It might get a little chilly in the afternoon, so bring some warm clothes too.
Tell your friends and family, bring your co-workers and your neighbours, you can even bring your pets this time!

Date: Sunday July 29th 2007.
Time: The park is open 9.30am-5pm. You’re welcome to arrive earlier, but let’s meet around 12 midday at the Open Field/みんなの原っぱ.
Location: Tachikawa Showa Kinen Koen.
Access: Nishi Tachikawa Sta. (JR Ome Line), one stop from Tachikawa Sta. (JR Chuo Line).
Cost: Park entry fee: Adults (15+) 400 yen, Children (6-15) 80 yen.
Food & Drink: Bring your own lunch and drinks and if you want to share, bring a little something for everyone.

Thanks to everyone who come today. It was fun, and the meeting afterwards was very productive. We’re gunna have an awesome batizado!
But the energy in the roda was really low. Not enough people. We got lots to work on. More singing, more berimbau practice, more roda practice.
What happened to everyone? Where were you guys?
It didn’t rain too much while we were at the park, in fact, the weather was nice.
