Festa Junina!

The capoeira camp just keeps getting better and better! Not only will we have a special guest instructor and workshops, surprise capoeira movies, and countless unforgettable moments. We’ve got a Festa Junina party planned!
Festa Junina is a typical harvest festival originally celebrated in Northeasern Brazil at the beginning of winter or the rainy season, and now becoming popular around the world riding on the coattails of the current Forró boom. What makes Festa Junina so fun is everyone gets to dress up as country folk and enjoy typical country style food, music and dance.
So for GBC Japão, that means the men will be drawing moustaches and mono-brows on their faces, wearing checked shirts, overalls, old jeans and suspenders, and straw hats. Meanwhile the women will be drawing freckles on their faces and painted-gaps on their teeth, pigtails and wearing checked/floral country dresses.
