Coral to Verde

Verde (Green)

Capoeira Movements

  • Know the names of the basic movements and perform them (to a basic standard) in the roda
  • Know the ‘rules’ of the Regional (Contemporânea) roda

Capoeira Music

  • Berimbau: São Bento Grande de Angola and Angola. Able to play to a basic standard
  • Songs: Lead XX Songs. Able to sing while playing berimbau and contributing axé in the roda
  • Explain (translate the theme/meaning to English/Japanese): XX Songs
  • Atabaque, Pandeiro, Agogô, Reco-reco: Able to play to a basic standard while singing and contributing axé in the roda

Participation & Experience

  • Attend regular classes and GBCJ events
  • Show an interest in the capoeira community outside of GBCJ

Contribution

  • Contribute positive energy to the classes, rodas, and events
  • Contribute to the group as a volunteer using your personal skills (Promotion, Photography, Video, Internet etc)

Project

  • Submit a project. Written as an essay, or presented in multimedia format discussing a topic related to capoeira. You must prove you have conducted research into your topic and provide a list of your resources

Verde to Verde/Amarela

Verde/Amarela (Green/Yellow)

Capoeira Movements

  • Know the names of the basic movements, intermediate movements and some floreios, and perform them (to a high standard) in the roda
  • Know the ‘rules’ of the Regional (Contemporânea) and Angola roda
  • Show a command of the jogo in the roda

Capoeira Music

  • Berimbau: São Bento Grande de Angola, São Bento Pequeno de Angola, Angola, Samba de Roda, Benguela. Able to play to a high standard
  • Songs: Sing XX Songs. Able to sing while playing berimbau and contributing axé in the roda
  • Explain (translate the theme/meaning to English/Japanese): XX Songs
  • Atabaque, Pandeiro, Agogô, Reco-reco: Able to play to a high standard while singing and contributing axé in the roda

Participation & Experience

  • Attend most classes and most GBCJ events
  • Participate in the GBC international community (family), including visits to other GBC branches
  • Attend events in the capoeira community outside of GBCJ

Contribution

  • Contribute positive energy to the classes, rodas, and events
  • Contribute to the group as a volunteer using your personal skills (Promotion, Photography, Video, Internet etc)
  • Shows dedication and commitment to the growth and development of the Grupo Bantus Capoeira Japão

Project
