4º Festival Capoeira do Grupo Bantus Capoeira Japão
BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!!!
Thanks Luis Claudio Silva from We All Japan for coming in on Saturday and Sunday (his birthday and birthday party day) and shooting hours of footage on his camera. Then editing all those hours of footage in his free-time and putting together this amazing montage of unforgettable memories for all of us at Bantus Capoeira Japan!
Update: All videos are now “Public” on YouTube. Sorry, I forgot to turn the “Private” setting off.
Batizado and Troca de Cordas Video
Thanks to the advances in online video sharing and continuous improvements on YouTube we are proud to present, for the first time, the entire batizado video!!!
Shot on tripod with Professor Rafael’s HDD Camcorder, the video is an audience’s point of view of the batizado. Some parts of the batizado are missing from the video.
We will be publishing video from other cameras soon, and will have a professionally produced digest of the batizado from We All Japan shortly.
I can’t wait to see that!
Video 1/4 (Opening Roda, Caçapa’s Graduation, Introduction of Guests, and Start of Kids Batizado)

“Anxiety, nervousness, and stress” are three good words to describe the feeling waiting for the visa applications for our guests to be approved.
As of October 6th, Professor Claudinho and Mestre Pintor have been granted entry into Japan (both for their third visit), and we are only waiting for Professor Rafael to be granted his third visa for Japan also.
UPDATE
Professor Rafael’s application has been approved!
Confirmed guests: Mestre Pintor (Bantus Capoeira Brasil), Professor Claudinho (Bantus Capoeira Singapore), and Professor Rafael (Bantus Capoeira Malaysia).

On Saturday October 2nd we started hand-stamping the front of our batizado t-shirts. The brain child of Cafuné and heartfelt expressions of creativity from all our members, this year’s Bantus Capoeira Japan batizado t-shirts are all 100% unique creations, Made In Japan!
On behalf of all the GBCJ members, I would like to wish Bantus Capoeira Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand all the best of luck for their upcoming 2009 batizados.
Australia will celebrating their 7th batizado after a year off in 2008. Malaysia celebrates their 6th, Singapore makes it their 4th, and our newest Bantus brothers and sisters in Thailand are nervously looking forward to their first batizado!
We hope we can invite you all to our 3rd batizado in Tokyo, 2010!
