5月31日は世界禁煙デー

ＷＨＯの標語：「ジェンダーとたばこ～女性向けのマーケティングに重点をおいて～」

2009年12月19日に世界保健機関（WHO）は、2010年5月31日の世界禁煙デーのテーマを「Gender and tobacco with an emphasis on marketing to women女性へのタバコの売込みをやめさせよう」と決めました。

　女性へのタバコの流行を阻止することは、包括的タバコ対策戦略の重点のひとつです。2010年の世界禁煙デーは、女性へのタバコの売り込みがもたらす悪影響に特別の警鐘を鳴らすために取り組まれます。さらにWHOタバコ規制枠組み条約の170を越える締約国に、あらゆるタバコの宣伝を禁止する必要のあることを周知させる取り組みも行います。

May 31st is World No Tobacco Day

Theme: Gender and tobacco with an emphasis on marketing to women

World No Tobacco Day 2010 will be designed to draw particular attention to the harmful effects of tobacco marketing towards women and girls.

Women comprise about 20% of the world’s more than 1 billion smokers. However, the epidemic of tobacco use among women is increasing in some countries. Women are a major target of opportunity for the tobacco industry, which needs to recruit new users to replace the nearly half of current users who will die prematurely from tobacco-related diseases.

To celebrate “World No Tobacco Day 2010″ Grupo Bantus Capoeira Japan will be holding an open roda on Sunday, May 30th. So come on down to Inokashira Park – next to Ghibli Museum and let’s enjoy a day of fresh air, green grass, and capoeira. Please check the Google Map below for access to the park.
